2025 Election Informational Page

The CivicPRIDE Board election is your chance to influence the leadership and direction of our organization directly. We are seeking passionate individuals to join the board and support our mission to advance LGBTQ+ leadership in local government. 

 

Open Positions (all two-year terms): 

  • President Elect: 1

  • Treasurer: 1

  • Directors at Large: 6 

How to Apply:

  • Fill out the candidate form below. 

  • The nominating committee will review and screen the submitted applications.  

  • Finalists will be notified no later than November 18 and the election ballot will be finalized by November 19th.

Online Voting

Voting will take place online from November 19 to December 4. All current CivicPRIDE members will receive an email with instructions on how to cast a ballot.

Election results will be announced at the Annual CivicPRIDE meeting on December 19.

Ideal Candidates

CivicPRIDE members (it's okay to become a member right before you apply), employed in or retired from local government, committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion, willing to meet the monthly time commitments:

  • Up to 2 hours a month on meetings and prep

  • At least 1 hour a month on member engagement

  • Participation on committees is variable

  • Officers: up to 2 hours a month for additional meetings and administration

Annual Meeting of the Membership December 19, 2025

Article VI - Nominations and Elections

Section 1: Elections, Ratification, and Terms of Office of Board Members

  1. Elections shall take place in the fourth quarter of each calendar year prior to and be ratified at the Annual Meeting of the Membership. Any candidate receiving the highest number of all votes cast for any office shall be declared elected.

  2. The election of the President-Elect shall occur annually. The President-Elect shall serve a one (1) year term and automatically succeed as President. 

  3. The President shall serve a one-year term. No person should serve more than one (1) term as President-Elect/President.

  4. The election of the Treasurer shall occur in odd-numbered years to serve a two-year term. The Treasurer may be nominated to serve additional terms. No person shall serve more than two (2) terms as Treasurer.

  5. The Directors At-Large shall serve terms of two years. The terms shall be staggered to elect six (6) in odd- numbered years and six (6) in even-numbered years. At-Large Directors may be nominated to serve additional two-year terms. No person should serve more than three (3) terms as a Director At-Large. 

  6. The term of office of each elective officer shall begin at the annual meeting following the election, and shall serve for the office’s designated term and until the elective officer’s successor is duly elected and ratified.
